Original hats and quirky designs by Glenda Grocott I use traditional millinery techniques, such as hand blocking using wooden hat blocks, to create one-off pieces.I work with a range of new and reclaimed materials including silk, woollen felt - both commercial and hand felted, velvet, sinamay and parasisal straws.I am particularly interested in the period of history between 1910-1930, with a passion for the ‘flapper’ and this is often reflects in the shapes of the hats I create.I scour charity shops and antique textile fairs hunting for anything that may be incorporated in my designs.
